About Dr Jay Suriar

Dr Jay Suriar completed his undergraduate training in Medicine at the National University of Malaysia/UKM, graduating in 2000 before obtaining his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2006. He then undertook Fellowship training in Clinical Hematology with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia.

Dr Jay served as Consultant Hematologist in Ampang Hospital, the National Centre for Hematology and Stem Cell Transplants, before joining Gleneagles KL as Resident Consultant Hematologist.

His expertise is in the investigation and treatment of blood diseases, both benign and malignant (blood cancers). He also has vast experience in the management of acute and chronic clotting and bleeding disorders, and disease conditions with immunology and rheumatology overlapping.

Dr Jay provides consultative hematology services as part of the multidisciplinary team of highly sought-after Gleneagles KL Consultants from specialties such as Surgery, Internal Medicine,  Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Oncology and Critical Care/ ICU. 

He contributed to the publication of the MOH Clinical Practice Guidelines on Prevention and Treatment of Venous Thromboembolism and has been co-investigator in Phase 3 clinical trials in multiple myeloma, PNH, lymphoma and hemophilia. He has published in international journals and is a two-term Council Member of the Malaysian Society of Haematology.
